RATIONALE
This forum will provide grounds for sharing ideas and experiences concerning the usage of artificial intelligence in departments or preparatory programs of universities in Turkey. The fast-pace of the developments in artificial intelligence and its repercussions in education is a recent issue that needs to be considered, discussed, and addressed to be able to manage and make the most of this unavoidable truth. The forum is open to participation by those who are interested in AI and have somewhat experience in using it; however, those who do not have much experience but wish to listen to the discussions are also welcome to join as listeners. The forum will address various topics from Curriculum Development to Instruction, from Testing and Assessment, Management to Professional Development. The logic of this forum is that each session will start with a presentation followed by small group discussions by participants, which will provide the basis for whole-group discussions on the topic. (As it is a hybrid event- online participants will have the chance to also deliver their opinions from the webinar chat, which will also be taken into consideration by the moderator of the webinar) A summary of the ideas will be provided at the end of each session, and reporters will take note as the forum’s discussions will result in a report / white paper, which will be sent to all universities’ Foreign Languages Departments and also to the Higher Education Council.

The forum is intended to be the beginning of a tradition of holding an annual forum at the Foreign Languages Department of FSMVU. The main objective of the forum is to be able to provide basis for discussion on recent issues such as AI and to gather ideas from experienced professionals.
