Üniversitemize Ödül (GPE Institution of Excellence Award)
Global Partners in Education (GPE) kuruluşu tarafından üniversitemize GPE Meng Fanxi 'Mükemmellik Gösteren Kurum' ödülü verilmiştir. GPE üniversite öğrencilerine Küresel Sanal Değişim (Global Virtual Exchange) aracılığıyla anlamlı ve etkili uluslararası eğitim deneyimleri sunmayı taahhüt eden yükseköğretim kurumlarından oluşan, East Carolina University liderliğinde yürütülen bir kuruluştur.
Üye kuruluşlara sunduğu imkânlardan olan farklı ülkelerden üniversitelerle ortak olarak yürüttülen sanal değişim olanakları mevcuttur. Bunlardan Global Understanding dersi, 2019 yılında, o dönem Yabancı Diller bölümümüzden görevlendirmeyle Sivil Havacılık Kabin Hizmetleri programında bulunan İngilizce Hazırlık Okulu Öğretim Görevlilerimizden Öğr. Gör. Zeynep Bilgehan CAN tarafından program başkanlığının ve MYO'nun da destekleriyle üniversitemizin GPE üyeliği neticesinde, SHKH müfredatına seçmeli ders olarak eklenmiştir ve ilgili programda her yıl bu dersi hâlâ öğrencilerimize sunmaktayız.
Kurumumuzda GPE kuruluşunun koordinatörlüğünü yürüten ve 2019'dan itibaren dersi veren Öğr. Gör. Zeynep Bilgehan CAN'ın yanı sıra geçen sene Öğr. Gör. Fatma Beyza Soyyigit de bu dersi vermiş olup, her iki Hocamız da Rosina C. Chia Award for Excellence in Teaching ödülüne bu sene aday gösterilmiştir.
Ders olarak öğrencilere sunulan bu imkanın yanısıra Worldwise öğrenci organizasyonu İngilizce kulübü şeklinde öğrencilere farklı ülkelerden öğrencileriyle görüşme imkanı sunmaktadır, kulüp kapsamında Öğr. Gör. Zeynep Bilgehan CAN'a destek olan Öğr. Gör. Alireza Kabiriaslifar ve Öğr. Gör. Muhammed Yamout Hocalarımıza da destekleri için teşekkür ederiz. Kurumumuz farklı bir formata geçilen Worldwise organizasyonunda bu sene ev sahipliği yaparak, 14 ülkeden farklı üniversitelerin öğrenci ve öğretim elemanlarının katıldığı bu sanal değişim etkinliği başarılı bir şekilde yürütmüştür. Bu çalışmalar doğrultusunda GPE tarafından yapılan değerlendirme sonucunda üniversitemize bu sene 'institution of excellence' (Mükemmelliyet gösteren kurum) ödülü verilmiştir.

Our university has been awarded the GPE Meng Fanxi “Institution of Excellence” award by the "Global Partners in Education" organization (GPE). GPE is an organization led by East Carolina University", and is composed of higher education institutions committed to providing university students with meaningful and impactful international education experiences through Global Virtual Exchange. Among the opportunities offered to member institutions are virtual exchange programs conducted jointly with universities from different countries.
One of these opportunities, the Global Understanding course, was added to the curriculum of the Civil Aviation Cabin Services program in 2019 as an elective course following our university’s GPE membership, with the support of the program administration and the vocational school. The initiative was led by Instructor Zeynep Bilgehan CAN, who at the time was assigned from our Department of Foreign Languages and served as an English Instructor in the program. We continue to offer this course to our students every year within the related program.
In addition to Instructor Zeynep Bilgehan CAN, who has been coordinating the GPE organization at our institution and teaching the course since 2019, Instructor Fatma Beyza Soyyigit also taught the course last year. Both instructors have been nominated this year for the Rosina C. Chia Award for Excellence in Teaching.
In addition to this opportunity offered to students as a course, the Worldwise student organization operates as an English club in our institution and provides students with the opportunity to meet students from different countries. We would also like to thank Inst. Alireza Kabiriaslifar and Inst. Muhammed Yamout for supporting Inst.Zeynep Bilgehan CAN within the scope of the club activities.
Our institution also hosted this year’s Worldwise organization, which transitioned to a different format, and successfully carried out this virtual exchange event with the participation of students and faculty members from universities in 14 countries.
As a result of the evaluation conducted by GPE in line with these efforts, our university has been granted the GPE Meng Fanxi “Institution of Excellence” award this year.
